2017 NJCAR Annual Meeting


The NJCAR Annual Meeting 2017 was held on March 22, 2017 at the New Jersey State Museum.

The meeting started with a welcome and introduction by Michele Stricker, the year in review by Karl Niederer, and information on upcoming programs.

A panel, Successes in Disaster Plan Implementation: Case Studies and Future Initiatives, was held. There were four speakers: Timothy Hart, Tuckerton Seaport; Michael Timpanaro, Monmouth Battlefield State Park (formerly of Liberty State Park); Todd Schmidt, Paper Mill Playhouse; and Tom Clareson, LYRASiS, Mellon Performing Arts Emergency Preparedness Initiative.

The meeting concluded with a business meeting.

NJCAR’s primary aims are to prevent and mitigate the loss of cultural and historic resources in the event of a disaster and to serve as a statewide resource.

The functions and duties of NJCAR are to engage in the following activities:

Conduct regular steering committee meetings to address pertinent issues regarding emergency preparedness and response.
